Love God Greatly - Made for Communityනියැදිය

A man is in need – robbed, beaten, abandoned and left for dead. In this story of the Good Samaritan, the two people whom the Jews would consider most likely to help this desperate man in need – the priest and the Levite – passed by on the other side of the road. It was the Samaritan, the enemy of the Jews, who generously treated this wounded man as his neighbor. While much of the world is busy trying to identify who their “neighbor” is and if they are worthy of being loved, God gently reminds us that because He first loved us, we ought to love one another. Living in community in our world – God’s way - means crossing barriers to love those unlike us – even our enemies. It means helping someone without expecting anything in return. It means actually DOING something, instead of just always talking about it. What if loving our neighbors looked like sacrificing our time, our resources, and maybe even our reputations so that the name of Jesus might be lifted high?
