Bildad Speaks: Man Cannot Be Righteous

1Then #ch. 2:11Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:

2“Dominion and fear are with God;#25:2 Hebrew him

he makes peace in his high heaven.

3Is there any number to his #ch. 19:12; Ps. 103:21 armies?

Upon whom does his #Matt. 5:45; James 1:17light not arise?

4How then can man be #ch. 4:17-19; 9:2; 15:14-16; Ps. 130:3; 143:2 in the right before God?

How can he who is #See ch. 14:1 born of woman be #ch. 14:4pure?

5Behold, even the moon is not bright,

and the stars are not pure in his eyes;

6 # ch. 9:14; 15:16 how much less man, who is #Ps. 22:6; Isa. 41:14 a maggot,

and #ch. 35:8the son of man, who is a worm!”
