The apostle John wrote a book about Jesus, “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). This reading plan goes through many Scripture verses, and the first chapters of John’s gospel, to discover who Jesus is.

What is the story of the church? This plan is a month-long journey through the Bible, looking at how God uses people, situations, and symbols to bring about communion between God and humanity once again. It follows the story of Israel and then the early church, highlighting the church's hope for resurrection and new creation and our role as agents of that new creation.

This is the ninth installment of a Bible reading plan following the lectionary pattern, with daily readings from the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament. This month features a daily memorization challenge centered on the theme of faithfulness, drawn from Samuel’s charge to the people as they prepare for their new king.
