Ajutaţi-i pe sfinţi în nevoile lor. Căutaţi să fiţi primitori cu străinii. Binecuvântaţi-i pe cei care vă prigonesc. Binecuvântaţi-i şi nu-i blestemaţi. Bucuraţi-vă cu cei ce se bucură, plângeţi cu cei ce plâng. Gândiţi la fel unul despre altul, nu vă gândiţi la ranguri înalte, ci lăsaţi-vă atraşi de cele smerite. Nu vă socotiţi voi înşivă înţelepţi. Nu răsplătiţi nimănui răul cu rău. Aveţi grijă să faceţi lucruri bune înaintea tuturor oamenilor. Pe cât stă în puterea voastră, trăiţi în pace cu toţi oamenii. Nu vă răzbunaţi singuri, preaiubiţilor, ci lăsaţi loc mâniei lui Dumnezeu, căci este scris: A Mea este răzbunarea. Eu voi răsplăti , zice Domnul. Deci, dacă vrăjmaşul tău este flămând, dă-i de mâncare, dacă îi este sete, dă-i să bea; căci, făcând aceasta, îl vei face să-i fie ruşine. Nu te lăsa biruit de rău, ci biruieşte răul cu binele.
