Real Hope: Dealing With Disappointment and Failure

DIA 4 DE 5

## Bridge Builder In an imperfect world, failure and disappointments are inevitable. An old saying says, ‘A mistake that makes you humble is better than an achievement that makes you arrogant.’ The key is how to get the issue right and never make the mistake again. It’s important to recognize the circumstances and desires that lead you to make the wrong recurring decisions, then you’re able to learn to avoid making that mistake again. You’ll find God will trust you with big things in His kingdom, and so will others around you. If you’ve hurt someone, go to them, explain the situation, and make it right. The Bible says, "Confess your faults to one another, then pray for one another that you may be healed (James 5:16 MEV)". It’s a brave and sensible person who can say, ‘I was wrong'. Those are the three most healing words in the human language. Following that with, ‘I need help’, will make people far more willing to help you. What you’re doing is, "Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21 ESV)". In this way, you’re sowing seeds of healing that will surely bring a harvest of healing and well-being back to you. You’ll be known as a person of integrity who people can trust. You’ll become a ‘bridge builder’ for healing and reconciliation. #### Written by DAVID SMETHURST
