Elijah. Man of Courage, Man of Faith, Man of God.Exemplo

Elijah begs God to intervene
The actions of the prophet Elijah are impressive and brave. But time and again it becomes clear that he speaks only on behalf of God. He cannot perform miracles himself. It is God who raised the widow's son from the dead, it is God who gave fire from heaven, and now God must also give the promised rain. Elijah can only announce these events, but not bring them about himself.
After the people recognize the Lord as their only God and the prophets of Baal are killed, Elijah retreats to the mountain. He secludes himself, his whole attitude showing that he is bowing down before God's face. We do not read his precise words, apparently that is something between the Lord and Elijah, but the story makes it clear that he is pleading with God for the fulfillment of His promise.
After the detailed description of the events on Mount Carmel, this one verse is easily overlooked. Yet it is important to note that Elijah was an ordinary person. He was not a miracle worker, but a faithful and dependent servant of God.
This offers hope. God listens to ordinary people who want to serve Him. Not just to Elijah, but also to others (see the verses from 2 Kings 6). He listens to you too!

Sobre este Plano

The Bible is full of stories about people who try to live to God's glory - with ups and downs. Elijah is such a man. He is a prophet who serves God wholeheartedly, but is also prone to despondency and depression. He confronts the king fearlessly, but flees from the queen. And in all this, God continues to care for His servant.
