Deus não nos chama apenas para sermos moralmente corretos e verdadeiros, mas a sermos santos. Essa é uma realização muito alta. E observe a razão da obediência à ordem: “porque Eu Sou Santo”. Os filhos devem ser como os seus pais. Há muitos filhos que carregam, nos seus próprios rostos, evidências da sua filiação; os filhos herdam a natureza dos seus pais. Deus é santo; portanto, como Seus filhos, devemos viver vidas santas. Somos “participantes da natureza divina” (2Pe 1:4) e devemos revelar esta natureza numa vida piedosa.
