Lowkey Legendsਨਮੂਨਾ

Ruth’s story begins with tragedy. Her husband has died, and she is left with her mother-in-law, Naomi, who is also grieving. Naomi tells Ruth to go back to her own people, but Ruth chooses loyalty over comfort. She says, “Where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.”
That choice didn’t guarantee an easy future, Ruth was stepping into an uncertain life in a foreign land. However, she trusted God enough to stay committed to Naomi. In time, God honored her faithfulness by weaving her into the lineage of King David and ultimately Jesus Himself.
Sometimes, faithfulness doesn’t feel glamorous. It looks like showing up when it’s hard, keeping promises when it’s inconvenient, and trusting God when the outcome is unclear. These small acts of obedience create space for God’s big plans to unfold.
This week, as we look at Ruth’s story, we will see that God notices our faithfulness even in quiet, everyday choices, and He uses them for His glory.
Questions to consider:
- When have you had to make a choice to be faithful even when it was hard?
- What does Ruth’s commitment teach you about following God?
