Practising Obedience

DAY 1 OF 5

The Call to Practice Obedience

In Isaiah 1:19–20, the Bible says, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” There's a blessing in obeying God. You can't say you're entirely obedient to God until it becomes a lifestyle. But it starts with a one-time act.

If you're going to serve God, obedience will cost you something, and first, yourself. It means laying aside comfort, expectations, and even logic. God’s instructions rarely come when it feels convenient. They come when our faith is tested.

In 2022, God gave me and my family an assignment that required faith and sacrifice. The budget was in millions, yet God said, “Go.” We obeyed, even when it made no sense. By the end, we lacked nothing. That's how obedience works. It may empty your hands for a season, but it fills your life with grace.

You may be in a season where God’s instruction feels costly. Remember, you're not called to understand first, but to obey.

Reflection Questions

  • What has obedience to God cost you in this season?
  • How does Isaiah 1:19–20 challenge your idea of success and blessing?

About this Plan

Practising Obedience

Obedience to God is not always convenient, but it is always worth it. Many times, God calls us to take steps that stretch our faith, challenge our comfort, or even cost us something dear. Yet, every act of obedience opens the door to His reward, His presence, and His purpose for our lives. In this 5-day plan, you’ll learn what it truly means to choose obedience over convenience. You will see how God leads through instructions rather than explanations, and why obedience often requires trust more than understanding. Prepare to be encouraged and challenged.
