How to Build Up God's Kingdom

DAY 2 OF 7

To Live the Gospel of the Kingdom

God’s Kingdom neither begins with us nor concludes with us. It’s woven into the great story God has been telling from the very beginning of the world – a story of love, loss, salvation, and restoration. The Gospel of the Kingdom is not just a message of the forgiveness of sins, but the good news of God restoring His plan for all creation. The Kingdom is when God’s will once again becomes a reality, “as in heaven, so on earth.”

To build up God’s Kingdom, one needs to see more than just one's personal salvation. We’re all part of the great story, where God creates a perfect world, we are people who ruined it all. Christ has redeemed and brought hope for the broken world. God’s Spirit restores and welcomes us to join the restoring of God’s plan. When you grasp that your life acquires new sense – your work, family, creativity, ministry – all at once become a part of God’s mission to restore a broken world.

To build up God’s Kingdom means allowing God to weave your story into His so that your everyday decisions, kindness, justice, and love would make His plan visible.

That frees us from a narrow Christianity which is reduced to personal morality or church activity. Since the Gospel of the Kingdom is not about escaping the world but about restoring it. We build up the Kingdom when helping others to see this greater picture and find their place in it.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • How aware am I of my life in the context of God’s great story?
  • In what areas can I collaborate with God in restoring His plan?
  • What “broken parts” of my world need restoration, and how can I bring God’s healing there?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for healing my broken story and giving hope. Please, help me see my life as part of Your great Mission of restoration. Teach me to live the Gospel of the Kingdom and be an instrument of Your love in this world.
