The Pursuit - 12 Weeksਨਮੂਨਾ

In Acts 8, we read about a powerful moment between Philip and an Ethiopian official. Philip shared the gospel with him, explaining how Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of Isaiah. As they traveled, they came across some water, and the man exclaimed, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?” (v. 36). Right then and there, he was baptized.
This story shows us that baptism is meant to be an immediate response to faith. The Ethiopian didn’t wait until he had all the answers or until he felt “spiritual enough.” He didn’t delay until he had cleaned up his life or developed years of experience in the faith. He believed in Jesus — and his very next step was baptism.
Think of baptism as an early win in your Christian journey. When you start a new habit, momentum matters. Finishing a small step gives you confidence to tackle the next one. Baptism works like that. It’s a simple, concrete act of obedience that strengthens your faith and sets you on the right track.
Maybe that’s why God placed baptism so early in the Christian life. It’s not meant to be a hurdle you wrestle with for years. It’s an opportunity to declare your new identity and begin building spiritual momentum.
Reflection:
What’s keeping you from taking this “early win” in obedience? If you’ve trusted Jesus but haven’t been baptized yet, what’s stopping you from doing it soon?
