The Promise of Revival

DAY 4 OF 7

Shining as Light in a Dark World

One of the marks of the last days is that darkness will increase—darkness in the form of knowledge, legalized practices, and a general degrading lifestyle. Sin will be multiplied, and even many who are in the faith will fall away. (Matthew 24:12)

What used to be considered outright sin is being tolerated and accepted. Things that were considered abominations are now being practiced without restraints. The lines between Godly and sinful, good and bad, are blurring.

But amid growing darkness and moral decay, we are admonished to remain spotless (2 Peter 3:10-18) and shine as light. You can live a sinless life in a sinful world. You can be on fire even when the love of others is waxing cold. It is possible to be untainted by the corruption that is fast spreading in the world and creeping into godly circles.

But this is possible not by mere human will. You have to stick to the Word of God and continually yield to the Holy Spirit to keep burning for God. It is by the Spirit that your love for God is renewed, and it is by Him you can be guided in Truth and escape deception (John 16:13).

The darkness of this age, no matter how gross it becomes, cannot overshadow the glory of God. His glory is more powerful. Arise, shine as a light in the corner where you are.

Prayer Focus:

Lord, set me on fire, and make me a burning and shining light in these dark times. Use me for your revival in the last days.
