REDEEM: A Journey of Healing Through Divorce and Addiction

DAY 3 OF 4

Divorce isn’t just the end of a marriage. It’s the unraveling of dreams. It’s the death of the “someday” you imagined. Add addiction to that story, and it’s easy to feel like all that’s left is ashes.

It’s easy to feel alone. But God doesn’t leave us. He steps into the fire with us, and He brings beauty from the ashes.

I think of Paul in Acts 9. He once wore the label of persecutor of the church. He was feared, despised, and even hated by many believers. By all human standards, his story should have ended there. But God met him on the road to Damascus and rewrote his future. The man who destroyed lives became the man who carried the message of eternal life. Paul’s past didn’t disqualify him. Rather, God redeemed it into a powerful testimony.

What the enemy meant to destroy, God is using to rebuild something stronger, holier, freer. He’s redeeming my future. I’m learning to hope again. To breathe again. To walk in peace, even with an uncertain path ahead.

No, this is not the life I planned. But it is the life God is redeeming, and that gives me courage to keep going, even when I don’t think I can keep going any longer. God is my redeemer. God is our redeemer.

Reflection: What part of your future feels uncertain or lost? Invite God to redeem your dreams and show you a new purpose.
