Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoਨਮੂਨਾ

You are good, and do good (Psalm 119:68 NKJV).
Do you faithfully ask God to meet your needs?
In today’s reading, you may want to underline the words "ask, seek, and knock” in Luke 11:9–13. Jesus instructs, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Luke 11:9 NKJV). These verbs—ask, seek, and knock—are given as commands in the present tense, implying continuous action: keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking.
Jesus uses the illustration of a father who provides good things for his son's requests. If earthly fathers, despite their flaws, give good gifts to their children, how much more will our heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! (Luke 11:11-13).
Beloved in Christ, recognize that our Heavenly Father is both generous and kind. Approach Him in prayer today with confidence, knowing that He delights in giving good things to His children.
Employment Point: Ask God daily to meet your needs because He is good.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
