Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoਨਮੂਨਾ

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2 NKJV).
How committed are you to sharing the true message?
Paul established the church in Corinth during his second missionary journey (Acts 18:1–17). Corinth was described by Homer as a wealthy but immoral city. Plato even used the term “Corinthian girl” to refer to a prostitute. Much of the city’s immorality was tied to the temple of Aphrodite and its 1,000 prostitutes.
Paul understood that only the gospel of Jesus Christ could reform such a sin-filled city. He called it “the power of God” in 1 Corinthians 2:5 and said, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16 NKJV).
Like Paul, I hope that you will be bold in sharing the gospel. In today’s wicked and sinful world, I pray that you tell others about the power of God's salvation!
Employment Point: Proclaim the gospel to the lost, trusting in its saving power.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
