We Don't Loseਨਮੂਨਾ

In the Kingdom, We Never Lose
The world often measures loss and gain in terms of success, possessions, or recognition. But the gospel reveals a different equation. For the apostle Paul, to live was Christ and to die was gain. Even what looks like the greatest loss from a human perspective—death—was for him simply the beginning of eternity with Jesus.
When my dad passed into the presence of God, what sustained me was precisely that conviction: in Christ, not even death is a loss. Of course I missed him and it hurt deeply, but I understood that it wasn’t a final goodbye—it was a “see you later.” In Christ, even the most painful farewell turns into hope, because we know eternity is ahead. That certainty strengthened my heart through grief.
Paul had grasped that nothing in this life—no achievement, no wealth, no prestige—could compare with the privilege of salvation and the glory to come. Every present suffering fades in light of the eternal weight of hope.
In God’s Kingdom, nothing is ever lost. What looks like sacrifice is actually an eternal investment. Following Jesus completely redefines our ideas of gain and loss. While the world urges us to accumulate and protect what’s ours, Christ invites us to let go of it all and trust that true life is found in Him. Every sacrifice for His sake has eternal value and produces fruit that is never wasted.
Reflection Questions:
- What things do I consider “losses” today that, in light of God’s Kingdom, might actually be gains?
- How can I invest more in the eternal instead of focusing only on the temporary?
Prayer: Lord, teach me to see life from Your perspective. Help me to value the eternal above the earthly and to recognize that every sacrifice for You is an investment that bears fruit in eternity. May my life reflect the conviction that in Your Kingdom, we never lose. In Jesus’ name, amen.
