When Hope Hurts: Miscarriage and Faithਨਮੂਨਾ

God, Why Me? What Was the Reason?!
Going through heartbreak, physical illness, and now miscarriages had me asking,
“God, why me?!”
My prayers and laments often sounded like that viral meme:
“What was the reason?!”
You may be asking the same question.
God’s sovereign response each time has always been:
'Why not you? I trust you to reveal My glory through this.'
So, instead of hiding our wounds and brokenness, we reframe the question:
How does God want to use this?
How might this wound serve others?
Maybe the wound of miscarriage is not a source of shame but, paradoxically, a source of healing.
Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, yet His wounds brought and still continue to bring healing:
“By His wounds we are (present continuous) healed.” - Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)
Jesus’ suffering and death brought joy and life.
His humiliation brought glory.
His rejection brought a community of love.
As followers of Jesus, our wounds can point people to His healing, but only if we don’t hide them.
This is why testimonies are powerful.
But let’s be clear...testimonies do not deny the pain.
They’re not about being God’s PR agent and spinning things positively.
Genuine testimonies acknowledge the brokenness, the pain, the wounds, the fragility of human life and show how, despite it all, God was with you.
God redeemed. God restored.
So God… what was the reason?
God says, Your brokenness is not to be hidden. This miscarriage, though painful, is not a journey that you are going through alone.
You are put back together by Jesus, who includes your brokenness as part of your story and your testimony.
About this Plan

Miscarriage is a wound that is often carried in silence, but with a heart full of questions. In this devotional, I share a journey of two miscarriages and the lament, doubt, faith and the hope that followed. Whether you’ve experienced a miscarriage or are walking alongside someone who has, I pray that through honest lament and hope restored, you will encounter the God who sees, heals and rebuilds from the ruins.
