5 Pillars of Faith & Finances: Anchored in God, Growing in Wealth

DAY 3 OF 5

On day three, I’d like to get into the topic of discipline.

Discipline is the bridge between where you are and where God wants you to be. It’s not easy to budget, cut expenses, or wait for things you want now. But discipline produces peace later. Without it, we stay vulnerable, like a city without walls. With it, we build protection and freedom.

The Bible reminds us that while discipline feels uncomfortable in the moment, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace. That principle applies to your finances too: every time you resist impulse spending or stay consistent with your budget, you’re strengthening your future.

As we reflect on discipline, let’s invite God to give us the strength to make wise choices today, trusting that they will bear fruit tomorrow.

Father, I admit discipline doesn’t always come easy for me. I confess the times I’ve chased instant gratification and made choices that hurt my future. Strengthen me with the fruit of self-control. Help me to see every “no” as a “yes” to the life You’ve called me to. Guard my heart against temptation, and give me courage to make wise sacrifices today. Teach me to build habits that align with Your willhabits that protect me, bless my family, and honor You. Let my discipline become a testimony of Your grace at work in me. Amen.

Discipline keeps us consistent, but wisdom helps us make the right decisions along the way.

Tomorrow, we’ll focus on the Pillar of Wisdom, meaning seeking counsel and clarity to guide our financial journey.

I’ll see you for pillar four.
