30 Days With the Psalmsਨਮੂਨਾ

A recipe for lasting joy
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked …
but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:1-2 ESV).
The Psalms are a collection of songs and poems in the Old Testament. They give us a glance at believers’ life experiences, especially regarding their relationship with God. Their lessons are still valuable, even thousands of years later.
The first Psalm offers an introduction to this collection of songs. It shows us the way to lasting joy: whatever experiences you may have in life, whatever your situation may be, if you live closely with God and delight in His word, you are blessed. The Psalm says you will prosper like a tree planted by streams of water, producing abundant fruit. God’s word, His “law” or teaching, will nourish us and make us bear fruit.
This way of life is contrasted with the wicked who live without God and despise His word. They won’t flourish at all. Their way of living will take them to a bad end.
Meditating on God’s word “day and night” is crucial for a fruitful and satisfying life. Do you delight in the teachings of the Lord God and experience its blessing?
