Day 15 – Love endures all things

Yesterday, we learned that love hopes all things. But today, I want us to explore what can help you, as a believer, hold on to your hope in the Lord without giving up. It’s called endurance. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:7 that love endures all things. But what is endurance? It simply means to tarry. And that word is used in terms of exercising extreme levels of patience.

In a world of ever-advancing technology, people tend to prefer things done quickly. In fact, some companies invest heavily in training staff members to attend to customers as quickly as possible. Why? Without fast customer support, they can lose a lot of revenue, which is understandable.

However, this becomes erroneously used when some believers think God does His things as fast as technology does. God is never slow, but He is also not in a rush. If you carefully read Jesus’ life account in each of the four gospel books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), you’ll never see anywhere that Jesus ran. He usually walked, no matter the emergency. But why did He do that? To teach us that love endures all things.

God hasn’t programmed everything in your life to function like a robot. You won't always have good living conditions, no matter where you are. But you must have an enduring spirit to persevere. You don’t need to settle for less, but you surely have to learn how to use the available resources at your disposal to do what He has told you to do.
