Legacy Lessons W/Vance K. Jackson

DAY 26 OF 30

“And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins were in her womb. And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first. And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez.” Genesis ‭38‬:‭27‬-‭29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

And Perez pushed. Pushing is a choice—and breaking forth is an option. It’s your choice to push forth. Despite the obstacles. Despite who’s in front of you. Despite who was “scheduled” to take first place. Despite who the world marked as ‘first’ with the scarlet thread—it’s your choice to push. Your Legacy is dependent upon your ability to push. Perez wasn’t positioned to be born first.

In fact, Perez’s hand didn’t breach first forth from the womb. Perez pushed forth while his brother—drew back. Perez was positioned to take second place, but his twin drew back. The vision that God has given you, was designed for you.

The vision of others may “look” like your twin. It may be marked as the “first,” But Perez pushed. Your legacy is based upon your ability to push. Others may be marked as the “choice.” But keep pushing—Perez. Sometimes the “choice” draws back. The hand of the diligent breaks forth.

When others are prematurely marked as the “first," the vision may seem to resemble yours, but remember, it’s only a part. The vision that God has given you is for you. It doesn’t matter who raises their hand first. Keep pushing. It doesn’t matter who is marked first. Keep pushing, and in due time, the world will say, “How hast thou broken forth? This breach be upon thee.” How did you do it? How did you overcome those obstacles? How did you break forth?

When the world saw the premature partial vision of another, they marked it as the first. But Perez pushed. Legacy is built upon your “push." Even when others are marked as the choice—keep pushing. Don’t draw back.

Partial execution forfeits the Promise. Perez pushed. Keep pushing. Don’t stop. Don’t draw back. This is a “Legacy Push." Push beyond the obstacles. Push.
