Walking With God Through Cancerਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 7: Trusting in God’s Timing
Proverbs 14:12, Hebrews 6:15, Psalm 25:5, Psalm 16:11, Psalm 27:14
Waiting is often one of the most challenging aspects of life, especially for those battling cancer. The journey involves waiting for test results, treatment plans, and the effects of medication. In these waiting periods, we face crucial choices with consequences that can impact our spiritual, emotional, and physical well‑being.
In our impatience, we may be tempted to manipulate circumstances to achieve our desired results. This attitude might lead us to pursue alternative treatments without proper guidance or make hasty decisions about care or life in general. Acting outside of God’s will often result in consequences that can hinder our healing process and spiritual growth. Proverbs 14:12 warns, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (NKJV). Impatience and resistance to God’s path can lead us into spiritual emptiness and unnecessary suffering.
Another temptation we face is quitting and walking away. The emotional and physical toll of cancer can be overwhelming, leading some to consider giving up on treatments or losing faith in God’s plan and purpose. Yet abandoning the course means missing out on God’s best for us. The book of Hebrews points out how Abraham waited for God: “After he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise” (Hebrews 6:15 NKJV). The valuable things in life often require a long and patient wait.
The most rewarding choice is to wait and watch God work. Waiting requires trusting in His perfect timing and knowing His will is best for our lives. Psalm 25:5 reminds us, “Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day” (NKJV). We gain new strength and perspective when we wait on God, and with Him, we can endure the journey with hope and resilience.
While our desires may push us toward immediate gratification, God calls us to respond to His plans and timing for our lives. He promises to direct our paths if we trust in Him. Psalm 16:11 advises, “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (NKJV). We will find God’s joy when we exchange our plans and timing for His perfect will.
A CLOSING THOUGHT
As cancer patients, the waiting periods are inevitable and often complicated. However, our choices during these times can lead us closer to God’s best for our lives. By resisting the urge to manipulate our circumstances and instead choosing to wait on God, we allow Him to work in and through us in powerful ways. Trust in His timing.
