In the Mirror of Life: 31 Days of Identity, Purpose, and Gratitudeਨਮੂਨਾ

MY REFLECTION IN GOD
Key Verse:
“So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” – Genesis 1:27 (NIV)
Reflection:
The human mirror often distorts our vision. It reflects labels, criticism, comparisons, and expectations. But the divine mirror reveals something greater: we were created in the image and likeness of God. In In Search of Myself, we learn that we must deconstruct the lenses of self-criticism to truly see who we are. In In the Mirror of Life, we discover that true beauty arises when we embrace the original dignity given to us by the Creator.
From a psychological perspective, negative self-image generates low self-esteem, dependency, and self-sabotage. Psychoanalysis reminds us that we carry internalized gazes that shape our sense of worth. From a systemic perspective, we repeat stories of devaluation passed down through generations. But the Word calls us to reconciliation: we are not defined by human eyes but by God’s reflection in us.
Additional Verses:
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV)
“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’” — 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)
Systemic Reflection Phrase:
“Today I choose to trade the mirror of criticism for the mirror of the Creator.”
Practical Challenge:
Stand in front of a physical mirror and declare aloud three biblical truths about yourself (e.g., I am a beloved daughter – 1 John 3:1; I am a new creation – 2 Corinthians 5:17; I am chosen – Ephesians 1:4). (NIV)
Therapeutic Technique:
Practice the mirror self-compassion technique: look into your own eyes, place your hand over your heart, and say, “I accept myself as God created me. I am learning to love myself with the same love He loves me with.”
Prayer:
Lord, help me to see beyond the distortions life has shown me. May I recognize myself in Your reflection — created in Your image, with dignity and worth. Teach me not to get lost in human judgments but to find myself again in Your gaze of love and truth. Amen.
