Matthew's Journey: 'The Gifts You Have' (Part 4)ਨਮੂਨਾ

Uniquely Designed for a Purpose
Have you ever looked at yourself and thought, What do I really have to offer? Maybe you feel like your talents are ordinary, or that others have gifts that seem far more useful. But Psalm 139 tells us a different story—one where you were wonderfully made, knit together by God Himself. Nothing about you is random.
In The Chosen, we see Matthew struggle with his place in the world. His keen eye for numbers, his ability to track details—skills that could be useful—had made him an outcast. He was rejected, even despised. And yet, Jesus saw him differently. While others dismissed him, Jesus called him. The very things that distanced Matthew from others were the same qualities Jesus wanted to use–for a new purpose. Do you have qualities like that?
But let's be real—sometimes we have trouble with the idea that we are actually uniquely designed. We focus on our flaws rather than our strengths, perhaps even believing the lie that we have nothing of worth to contribute. Maybe you've compared yourself to someone else, thinking, If only I had their gifts… But comparison is a thief. It blinds us to the beauty of what you are–of what we believe God has placed within you. What if, instead of wishing we had someone else’s gifts, we leaned into our own, trusting that God knew exactly what He was doing when He made us?
And here’s something else to consider—when we fail to embrace our gifts, we’re not just short-changing ourselves; we’re withholding something valuable from others. Because… Truly… Honestly… God created you ON purpose, FOR a purpose! There are people in your life who deeply need what you have and what you bring to the table of life.
So what are you waiting for? Maybe it’s time to stop doubting and start discovering the gifts that God has placed in you. What are some unique qualities or talents you have? Have you ever felt like they didn’t matter? How might God see them differently?
P.S. Are you enjoying this journey with Matthew? Your own character might even resemble his. Care to find out? Take our The Chosen 'Test of Character' and journey for a while with the character you have the most in common with.
