Still His Son: Lost, Found, and Forever Changed by God’s Loveਨਮੂਨਾ

Fighting for Fatherhood
When I met Gage, I saw a strong man, but not just because he’d been through hard things. I saw strength in the way he loved his family. In the way he showed up. In the way he fought for the fatherhood he almost lost.
There was a time when Gage walked around with bail money in his pocket, just in case he got arrested again. Addiction ran his life. He couldn’t be trusted. He couldn’t lead. The people who loved him most were the ones getting hurt.
Then came a moment, a single question from a stranger, that stopped him in his tracks. It pierced through the fog, and Gage realized: I wasn’t made for this.
He surrendered. Found help. Found Jesus. And today? He’s not just free—he’s a father. A counselor. A man building a new legacy.
It didn’t happen without a fight.
Being a dad doesn’t come with a manual. If you’ve messed up in the past, the guilt can make you think you don’t deserve a second chance. Here’s the truth: your identity as a son of God gives you what you need to show up as a father—not perfectly, but faithfully.
Your family doesn’t need a flawless man. They need a present one.
A man who fights for them the way God fights for you.
A man who leads from the grace he’s received.
A man who knows—even when he’s tired, even when he’s stumbled—
He is still His son.
Reflection Questions:
- Where do you need God’s strength to show up in your role as a father (or father figure)?
- What does “fighting for your family” look like in this season?
Prayer:
God, thank You for trusting me with the people in my life. Sometimes I feel like I’ve failed too many times to lead them well. I believe You’ve called me to fight for them—not with perfection, but with love. Strengthen me to lead with grace, humility, and courage. Remind me I’m still Your son and that’s enough. In Jesus’ name, amen.
