The Marital Bed Undefiled. A Living Sacrifice.

“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” Hebrews‬ ‭13:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When you surrender to Christ, you are declaring that every area of your life belongs to Him, including your members. Romans 12:1 KJV declares, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Your body belongs to Him.

As a Christian, God declares, through Paul, in Romans 12:1 KJV, that we are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, Holy, and acceptable unto God. If we are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice unto God, married or single, then how much more are we to present our marriages to God as a living, or continual sacrifice.

A living sacrifice is a daily decision. To present your body to God as a living or lively sacrifice is your reasonable service. In other words, your life and lifestyle should reflect Christ continually. A living sacrifice is a continual presentation to God. Continually present your marriage as a present to God. Present your life as a present to God. Choose to present your private life and your public life as a present to God. What you choose to do in private and public should reflect the Heart and Character of God continually.

2 Timothy 3:16 KJV declares, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” Every scripture in the Bible was inspired by God and is profitable for doctrine or instruction. In other words, God’s Word is profitable and is beneficial for those who want to live a life that is pleasing to Him and reflects His Word. His Word also corrects. Let God correct you. Let God prune your heart. Let God reprove and redirect you. If God’s Word is beneficial for every aspect of our lives then His Word is also beneficial for our marriages.

The entire Song of Solomon is a reflection of God’s Heart and Love for marriage. Through man, God wrote this book to show His Love in a Holy Union. Marriage is not boring. Marriage is a journey. The Song of Solomon is an expression of God’s Love. In fact, all Scripture is a reflection of God’s Love. And through marriage, we have the opportunity to express God’s Love towards our spouse. We are reflectors of His Love.
