God’s Comfort in Grief and Sufferingਨਮੂਨਾ

God of All Comfort
Can any good come from pain and suffering?
You may know that God can work all things for your good (Romans 8:28), but this does not make it easy when you are going through a trial. I have faced many trials in my life—childhood trauma, my son’s drug addiction, the loss of my husband, and health struggles—but when I did a deep dive on 2 Corinthians, I learned that God doesn’t just want us to endure trials, but to triumph over them.
Second Corinthians 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort” (NKJV).That was the first thing Paul wanted the church in Corinth to know from his letter. Why “all comfort?” Why not just the God of comfort? Because you face all kinds of suffering. Thankfully, God has the right comfort to meet any trial.
You may say, “I'm facing financial suffering.” Well, God has the right comfort for that. You may say, “I'm in a real physical trial and I'm getting bad reports from the doctor.” Well, God has the right comfort to go with that physical trial. You may say, “I have a relationship problem. They’re just so cruel and harsh.” Well, God has specific relationship problem comfort.
Second Corinthians 2:14 gives a wonderful reminder that, no matter the challenge, God “always leads us in triumph in Christ” (NKJV). This is one of my favorite verses. God says, “I always want you to win.” Well, in my natural thinking, I do not think we are always supposed to win. Yet in my supernatural thinking, I learn that if we live life the Bible’s way, we do always win. Second Corinthians 2:14 does not say we will win half the time or even most of the time. It says God always leads us to triumph in Christ. This is a God-led victory. You need to memorize this Scripture. You need to know where your triumph lies. Where? In Christ, not without Him.
No matter the struggle, all of your suffering will be met by the God of all comfort, and, in time, He will work things for your good.
