Philippians - Life in Jesusਨਮੂਨਾ

Context
From Paul's exhortations, we can conclude that the church in Philippi was going through a period of division. First, there was division between the members and leaders of the church, who were quarreling for various reasons (Philippians 2:1-4; 4:2-3), and second, there was infiltration by false teachers who spoke against Paul. Chapter two addresses the lack of unity among the brothers, offering three examples to follow.
- Philippians 2
Meditate
Paul exhorts the Philippians to unity, leaving behind selfishness and pride. The call is based on unity in Christ. Those who are united with Jesus must also be united with their brothers. He gives them the example of the Savior's life and that of his two disciples, Timothy and Epaphroditus.
What are some of the things you have allowed to come between you and your brothers? What can you learn from these three examples that will help you rebuild unity in your personal relationships or in your church?
Pray
Verse 13 says, “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” We all want to forgive, to look at others as better than ourselves, to seek the good of others rather than our own, and to stop complaining. Most of the time, it is difficult for us to do this because our sinful nature fights against God's will. BUT THE LORD WORKS IN US! If you lack the will, pray that the Lord will give it to you. If you lack strength, the Lord can give it to you. Ask for them with faith because they are according to His will.
