Journey Through Isaiah & Micahਨਮੂਨਾ

Journey Through Isaiah & Micah

DAY 1 OF 15

Intro

Nicole introduces this course in which we’ll have a chance to feel the anxiety of our ancestors who faced the prospect of distinction—and who witnessed a miraculous deliverance by God’s mercy. We’ll also see how persistent failures would lead to judgment. Although it was postponed, we’ll see why judgment was inevitable. And then we’ll hear words of hope once again, all through the eyes of one of the greatest prophets in the whole Bible.

Intro

Nicole introduces this lesson in which we will get acquainted with Isaiah and witness real-time geopolitics, beatific visions of the future, dramatic theological statements about YHWH, poetic statements describing God as a king and a vision of him seated on his heavenly throne—a Bible within a Bible.

Isaiah: YHWH & the Nations: In the Text

Isaiah is a miniature Bible with its 36 “Old Testament” chapters followed by its 27 “New Testament chapters. Throughout the book God is described as sovereign over both creation and history, and over the false gods of the heavens and the proud kings of this world. These are audacious claims from a country that was almost annihilated by the Assyrians, but YHWH’s reputation wasn’t tied to his people without condition. He would allow the nations to purge them and then miraculously restore them.
