Width – The Love That Embraces Everyone
The width of God’s love is one of its most extraordinary and comforting characteristics. In John 3:16 (KJV) we read: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son...” This passage emphasizes that God’s love is not limited or reserved for a chosen few but extends to the whole world, without exception.
When we think of the width of divine love, we imagine an embrace so wide as to include every person, regardless of their origin, social status, skin color, or personal history. God’s love does not stop at our mistakes, weaknesses, or past. It does not discriminate based on the language we speak, the culture we belong to, or the choices we have made. It is a love that transcends every human barrier—a universal and inclusive love.
This means that no one is excluded from His affection and grace. God loves every single individual with a great and infinite heart. Even when we feel distant or unworthy, God’s love continues to reach us, ready to welcome and transform us.
This width of love prompts us to reflect on how we live our faith and relationships with others. If God loves so broadly, we too are called to show a boundless love capable of embracing anyone, without judgment or prejudice.
In a world often divided by invisible walls, God’s love is the force that unites, heals, and invites authentic communion. Living with the awareness of this vast love encourages us to be instruments of peace and hospitality, testifying through our lives the depth and width of divine grace.
