From Tension to Trust: 5 Days of Trading Fear for Faithਨਮੂਨਾ

You know that feeling when you’ve prayed…Waited. Obeyed. Trusted. And still, nothing seems to be happening.
You’ve asked God to show up in your business or ministry. You’ve even taken a small, scary step of obedience. But now it’s quiet. Painfully quiet. And the longer you wait, the tighter the knot in your stomach grows.
Welcome to the space between tension and trust.
Let’s just name it: tension can feel awful. It shows up in our bodies as headaches, tight shoulders, and racing thoughts. It whispers lies to our hearts:
“Maybe I heard God wrong.”
“What if nothing changes?”
“I should never have taken this risk.”
But what if this tension isn’t a sign of failure...but an invitation?
That’s what Paul was getting at when he told Timothy to “fight the good fight of faith.” Paul wasn’t talking about a peaceful stroll through the park. He was describing the very real struggle we all face when we’re trying to trust God in hard, confusing seasons.
And guess what? You’re not alone in that struggle.
This side of heaven, none of us will have perfect faith. God knows that. That’s why he uses seasons of waiting to grow us. To stretch us. To deepen our trust in him—not just for outcomes, but for who he is.
Faith isn’t built in the absence of tension. It’s forged in the middle of it.
My first job as a licensed counselor was at the local hospital. I sat with people in deep pain: grief, trauma, marriages unraveling. I cared deeply, but I was new and unsure. Thankfully, I wasn’t alone. A wise supervisor guided me, and the hospital’s CEO carried the weight of the bigger picture.
Even though lives were at stake, I could sleep at night knowing it didn’t all depend on me. My job was to show up and be faithful. The ultimate responsibility belonged to someone else.
These days, I still lead and serve in ways that carry real weight. And far too often, I forget that God is the one in charge. He is the CEO of my business, my ministry, my life, and the world.
When I try to manage everything—outcomes, results, even the timing of his answers—the tension inevitably rises. But something shifts when I remember who is in charge.
God knows exactly what we need. Whether it’s in our businesses, ministries, or families, he’s already working behind the scenes, putting the pieces in place. And while it’s okay to feel the tension, we don’t have to live trapped in it.
Tension isn’t the enemy. It’s a signal, a flashing light on the dashboard of your soul, inviting you to deeper trust.
So let’s start there. Today, I invite you to pause and pay attention to the tension.
What’s one area in your life where you’re waiting for God to show up? Take a deep breath. Bring it to mind.
Now, instead of pushing the tension away or trying to fix it, sit with it. Ask God, “What are you inviting me to believe about you in this space?”
This isn’t about mustering up more faith. It’s about growing in relationship with the one who is always faithful.
You don’t have to figure it all out. You just have to show up and trust the one who already has.
Prayer:
God, you see the tension I’m carrying. I want quick answers, but you’re inviting me into deeper trust. Help me pause, release, and remember that you are faithful, even here. Amen.
Tension doesn’t just whisper—it shouts, pushing peace aside and shaping how we think, live, and pray. Tomorrow, we’ll expose the quiet force behind it and discover how to break its grip.
