DAY 4 OF 8

Day 4: Prioritizing Prayer

Making Time for God in a Hasty World

Obstacle: Haste and Distorted Priorities

Scripture:

Psalm 46:10 (NIV) - "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Devotional:

We often feel rushed and overwhelmed, struggling to find time for the things that matter most. Prayer can easily fall by the wayside when we prioritize other activities. However, prayer is not just another item on our to-do list; it's the foundation upon which we build our lives. Psalm 46:10 reminds us to "be still and know that I am God." Making time to be still before God, even in the midst of our busy lives, allows us to recognize His presence and gain perspective. When we prioritize prayer, we align ourselves with God's will and gain clarity, strength, and wisdom to navigate our busy lives.

Reflection:
"How am I currently prioritizing my time? Is prayer a priority, or an afterthought? What does it mean for me to 'be still' before God?"

Action: Examine your daily schedule and identify areas where you can carve out time for prayer. This might involve waking up 15 minutes earlier, using your commute time for prayer, or setting aside a specific time each evening. Treat this time as a non-negotiable appointment with God. During your prayer time, focus on being still and listening for God's voice, rather than just talking to Him.
