Giving Thanks Using the Psalmsਨਮੂਨਾ

Give thanks! Seven times a day
‘Seven times a day. I praise You, because of Your righteous ordinances’ (Psalm 119:164, WEB)
What a beautiful prescription for our life of faith: to praise and thank God seven times a day. Psalm 119 is the longest Psalm in the book that has the most chapters in the Bible. The psalms were written at a time when people could not read God's words in the way we can. Much was passed on by word of mouth and memorized. Psalm 119 consists of 22 smaller pieces. Each piece begins with a letter from the Hebrew alphabet from Aleph (א) to Taw (ת). This is called an acrostic, and the structure helped people to learn it by heart. The question is asked how we can live righteously and purely. The answer is: by listening to God's words and putting them into practice. His words and precepts teach us what is important, protect us, and help us do the right things. Repeatedly, the writer of Psalm 119 expresses his joy at the goodness of God's words. 'Praise God seven times a day' means to praise and thank Him all day long for who He is. Throughout the day, we are able to see how much God gives us. A great prescription to keep up your strength daily: thanking God seven times a day for His presence in your life.
Recommendation: Put words of thanksgiving in your phone. During the day, let these be a reminder during your normal affairs.
Thanksgiving: Dear God, thank You that I get to know You by reading the Bible. How wise, good, and reliable are Your words. Today I thank You for ...... (fill in your own points of thanks)
