The Power of the Spirit
When Peter and John healed the man at the temple gate, not everyone was happy about it. The religious leaders were deeply disturbed that Peter and John were teaching people that through Jesus, there is resurrection from the dead.
So what did they do? They arrested Peter and John.
But instead of backing down, Peter stepped up. Filled with the Holy Spirit, he spoke boldly—right to the most powerful religious leaders in Jerusalem.
He said the healing was done in the name of Jesus—the one they crucified, but God raised from the dead.
Then he quoted Psalm 118:22: “The stone you rejected has become the cornerstone.”
Peter ended with this bold claim: “Salvation is found in no one else.” (Acts 4:12)
