The Power of Wordsਨਮੂਨਾ

We began a thought yesterday on the role words play in our lives. We will look more intently on it today. We must realize that one who sows a seed must partake of it. And the farmer is entitled to reap the harvest of what he sows. Our words are like seeds and we will reap a harvest of our words whether good or bad. Jesus informs us in our text, that our words will either bring condemnation or justification upon us. While that could be understood in a context, it is still a general spiritual principle.
For instance, Proverbs 18:21 says that "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love its use will eat its fruit" (NET). This shows that everyone must be ready to receive the effect of their words, whether good or bad. The wisdom there is to only say what you want to see. When we understand that our words create our realities then we will talk less and talk more profitably. We must realize that our words determine whether we are going to be victors or victims.
Let it be known to us that we can in no wise be greater than our words. We cannot experience rest if our words are troubling. We can know no courage, if our words are discouraging. And we surely begin to die once our words are filled with death. The enemy in hindering us tempts us to say things that condemns us knowing that our words are seeds and we shall soon reap what we have sown. We know this by reading the account of the Israelites in Numbers 13 through to 14. We know God promised to give them the land of Canaan but when ten spies brought bad news and corrupted their hearts, they wept and said it was better for them to die in the wilderness (Numbers 14:1). And they did die in the wilderness because their words stood against them before God, the Great Judge, who did to them exactly what they had said in His hearing (Numbers 14:28). So we see that our words will either condemn us or justify us, bind us or set us free. So I ask you friends, what do you want to see in your life? Say it.
