Dare to Dreamਨਮੂਨਾ

Jesus drew strength from His vision of the future
“Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2 ESV)
Many people are driven by some goal they have set for themselves or a dream they are pursuing. That motivates them to keep going, even if it demands sacrifices. This was true with the Lord Jesus as well. Just before He was to be arrested and put to death, He prayed, “Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, may be with me where I am, to see My glory that You have given Me.” (John 17:24 ESV) That was Jesus’ big ‘dream’. He wanted to save lost people and bring them home again. He wanted them to spend eternal life in His glory.
For that purpose, Jesus had to sacrifice everything. First He gave up His divine glory by becoming man. Later, He endured ridicule, rejection and physical torture. Finally, abandoned by His Father, He endured the burning wrath of God for sin as He was nailed naked to a cross.
Jesus knew in advance that all this would happen. He said, “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour.” (John 12:27 ESV) The joy Jesus’ suffering and death would bring gave Him strength to persevere.
Do you also have a dream that you are pursuing? What dream is that?
