KEY POINT: You have been given the authority to increase the capacity of your environment to advance the Kingdom.

What does it mean to fill the earth?

Perhaps you think of filling as simply putting a lot of things in a container to the point that it can’t hold anymore.

But that image doesn’t fit the context of Genesis when it comes to our authority over creation.

The word “replenish” in Hebrew refers to the concept of abundance, of more than enough.

So, when we are commanded to fill the earth, God doesn’t have limits in mind, as if once we hit a certain amount, we can stop filling.

There will never be a point where there will be too much beauty, too much creativity, or too many good works.

You are here to expand the Earth’s capacity.

Your dreams, creative goals, and desires were never meant to be limited to what your circumstances deem adequate.

You are empowered to envision what’s possible and then develop tools that turn it into reality.

For example, before there were skyscrapers, we didn’t know how deep a foundation would be required to hold up a building that would be hundreds of feet tall.

But we discovered the Earth has the capacity to hold them.

The same can be said for many of our modern marvels.

Man tested limits, exceeded them, and the Earth/creation responded.

Let’s make this more personal.

What projects, goals, and dreams have you put on the back burner because you thought there wasn’t enough capacity to hold them?

What if God has called you to build something, create something, or move a vision forward so that the Earth can increase its capacity?

The exciting (and sobering) fact is that if we are not replenishing the earth, we’re missing out on discovering just what we are capable of.

In just six days, God provided everything you needed to start filling the Earth.

Now you have the privilege of turning your dreams and visions into reality, and you can do so with the confidence that the Earth will make room for it.

Today, look for your opportunity to fill the Earth with more joy, more love, more beauty, and more of His Kingdom-influenced creativity.

Take an honest look at the projects, goals, and ideas that you have shrunk down because you felt uncertain or uncomfortable with the resources or time they would require.

Consider how much that project, goal, or idea would benefit God’s kingdom, God’s people, and the world in general if it were to grow to an abundant level. Then map out the first action steps in reaching that goal in light of your new perspective.
