Put On the Full Armour — Standing Strong in Spiritual Battle
As you prepare for your Trek, it’s vital to remember that your journey is much more than a physical adventure — it’s a spiritual battle. The apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:10-12:
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (NIV)
Be Strong in the Lord
Before you put on the armour, Paul calls you to be strong in the Lord. Strength comes first from within. Imagine a soldier trying to fight while weak inside — no amount of armour can compensate for that. Likewise, your spiritual strength must come from God’s mighty power.
Your strength does not come from your own abilities or knowledge but from the Lord. Draw deeply from Him in prayer. Seek His guidance daily and trust that He will sustain you through every challenge.
Put on the Full Armour of God
God equips you with a full set of armour — not just any armour, but His own. This armour is your protection and preparation for the spiritual battles ahead. Each piece represents something vital: truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and readiness to share the Gospel.
Make it a daily practice to “put on” this armour, committing yourself to live in God’s truth and strength. This spiritual armour is your defence against the schemes and attacks of the enemy.
Recognise the Spiritual Forces of Evil
The enemy is not people but the dark spiritual forces working against God’s Kingdom. You may face opposition, spiritual attacks, and challenges to your faith and mission. Yet, you are not powerless.
You carry the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already won the victory. Your mission is to bring freedom and hope through His name. Remember, people you serve are not your enemies—they are souls in need of Christ’s saving grace.
Stand Firm and Shine His Light
As you embark on your mission, stand firm, fully equipped, and aware of the spiritual battle. The Lord goes before you, preparing the way and strengthening your heart.
Be a beacon of hope, shining God’s light into darkness. Pray now for strength, protection, and courage to wear His armour faithfully every day.
