Find & Follow Jesus, Quarter 3

DAY 82 OF 92

Devotional:

”‘To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?’ says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name… Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, ‘My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God’?” Isaiah 40:25–27 (NIV)

When life feels heavy and God seems distant, it’s easy to believe that He’s forgotten us. We may not say it out loud, but deep down we wonder: Does God see me? Does He care about what I’m going through?

Isaiah 40 reminds us to lift our eyes higher. The God who created the stars, who knows each one by name and sustains them, is the same God who sees and knows you. There is no comparison to His greatness. He is all-powerful, but also intimately personal, knowing exactly what you are feeling. If He watches over the stars, He surely hasn’t lost sight of you.

God’s people in Isaiah’s day felt forgotten in their suffering. They believed their struggles were hidden from Him. But Isaiah’s words offer comfort and correction: God hasn’t forgotten. He is not unaware. He is working, even when you can’t see it.

So when you’re tempted to think God doesn’t see you, look up. Let creation remind you that the One who governs the universe also holds your life in His hands.

Prayer:

Are you feeling overlooked or unheard? Look to the heavens and remember who God is. Trust that He sees your heart and hears your prayers and share honestly about your struggles and feelings. He cares more than you know.

About this Plan

Find & Follow Jesus, Quarter 3

Follow our quarterly plans to read through the entire Bible in one year, plus a bonus round through the Gospels and Romans. Each day, we encourage you to read the sections from both the Old Testament and the New Testament, and then set aside some time to write down, journal, or memorize the first posted verse from each day. Every week we provide an additional devotional for further discussion on that week's themes.
