Find & Follow Jesus, Quarter 3ਨਮੂਨਾ

Devotional:
“Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?” 2 Chronicles 1:9-10 (NIV)
When Solomon became the king of Israel, he was young, inexperienced, and facing the enormous responsibility of leading God’s chosen people which included 1.3 million fighting men, suggesting a total population (including women, children, and the elderly) possibly between 4 to 6 million people. Rather than asking for wealth, power, or long life, Solomon asked for wisdom. A request that revealed a heart that valued God’s priorities—leadership rooted in understanding, discernment, and humility.
In this moment, Solomon teaches us a profound lesson: true wisdom begins with recognizing our dependence on God. Rather than trusting in his position or strength, Solomon turned to the Lord, acknowledging that he needed divine guidance.
In our daily lives, whether we’re leading families, workplaces, or simply managing our own decisions, we too need wisdom that goes beyond human insight. God delights in answering this prayer. James 1:5 reminds us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.”
Let Solomon’s prayer shape our own today. May we seek not what elevates us, but what equips us to serve others well and honor God with our decisions.
Prayer:
Write down a specific area where you need wisdom—whether it’s a relationship, a decision, or a challenge. Ask God to give wisdom generously to each need represented. Reflect on how God’s wisdom might lead to love, clarity, and peace in that area and in your life.
About this Plan

Follow our quarterly plans to read through the entire Bible in one year, plus a bonus round through the Gospels and Romans. Each day, we encourage you to read the sections from both the Old Testament and the New Testament, and then set aside some time to write down, journal, or memorize the first posted verse from each day. Every week we provide an additional devotional for further discussion on that week's themes.
