From Waiting to the Immediateਨਮੂਨਾ

What Are You Waiting For?
Jesus was in Jerusalem and, as He passed by the pool of Bethesda, He saw a man who had been sick for 38 years. This place was famous for the belief that an angel would stir the waters occasionally, and the first person to enter would be healed. That man, physically limited, had been waiting for a miracle for decades, but his opportunity seemed to never come.
Have you ever thought that what you're waiting for in your life will never come? Maybe you've been waiting a long time for an answer. You pray for a job, for your family, for health, for your dreams... but it seems like nothing happens. Perhaps you've been praying for something for a long time, knocking on a door that doesn’t open. And doubt begins to whisper: “That’s not for you.”
We grow tired of waiting and end up settling for our situation, thus reducing the space for God's power to manifest in our lives. That’s exactly where the enemy wants to take our faith—to a place where we begin to think that it’s not for us, that it will never happen, that it won’t come to pass, that the door will stay closed. But just as Jesus worked in the life of that man—who, after 38 years of waiting, was healed in an instant—He can also work in us.
What areas of your life might need preparation to receive what you've been asking God for?
Prayer: Lord, don’t let comfort draw me away from Your plans. Prepare my heart and character to receive what I’ve been waiting for. I know You are working in me during this process. Help me be ready in every area of my life for when You choose to act. In Jesus’ name, amen.
