Unboxed: Built on Purposeਨਮੂਨਾ

We’ve already discussed that God cares about your inner self, but he also cares about your physical body more than you may think! In fact, your body is referred to as a “temple of the Holy Spirit” in 1 Corinthians 6.
The temple was a place set apart for a primary purpose – worshiping God. If, as Christians, we are now his temple, this should have a huge impact on how we care for ourselves. We are meant to honor God with our bodies. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” God gave you your body, and he loves you. He cares about how you clean, rest, and feed yourself. Like the temple, you are meant to honor him with every part of your life, from brushing your teeth to reading your Bible to being a good friend and student. You are set apart for his glory (and your good). So, live like it!
Reflection Questions:
- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 teaches that your body is meant for honoring God. How does that affect the way you think about and treat yourself today?
- You are not only created in God’s image but you have been set apart as his temple. How does being specially loved and set apart by God, even when you don’t deserve it, change the way you see yourself?

About this Plan

This is part 1 of 4 in the Feed Middle School series Unboxed: Created in God's Image. This plan unpacks Lesson 1: Built on Purpose. God created everyone in his image. While sin has distorted that image, we have the hope of renewal through Jesus.
