Unboxed: Anchoredਨਮੂਨਾ

Do you ever wake up and feel just awful? Maybe you argued with your brother or sister, maybe you had a bad attitude at practice the night before, or maybe you’ve been feeling bad about yourself and don’t know why. It’s hard to believe that God loves you in all of those situations, especially when you are upset with yourself. But no opinion, be it yours or anyone else’s, can steal from this truth: Jesus loves you.
One amazing example of God’s love is the story of Paul. Before he followed Jesus, he made it his life’s mission to put Christians in prison or to death. Well, one day, God stopped him in his tracks (literally), and as a result, Paul changed his life and became one of the most important early Christians. Our passage today comes from his letter to the Roman Christians, and it is about the unshakeable love of God. Paul wrote about this from a deeply personal experience. And just like Paul, you are God’s special creation. His love for you is not based on your performance, feelings, or even what happens to you. His love is constant, and he extends it to you no matter what.
Reflection Questions:
- How does God’s constant love for you change how you think about yourself? How does it change the way you think about others?
- Paul speaks about God in an open and honest way in Romans 8:35-39, fully recognizing the power of God’s love. What thoughts do you have about God after reading the passage?

About this Plan

This is part 3 of 4 in the Feed Middle School series Unboxed: Created in God's Image. This plan unpacks Lesson 3: Anchored. We are often motivated by feelings instead of reality. Our insecurity can become security when we place our hope on the solid truth of God instead of the fleeting feelings of the world.
