A Minute of Hopeਨਮੂਨਾ

It’s interesting to me that in Luke 11, the disciples came to Jesus asking Him to teach them how to pray. They didn’t ask Him how to teach, preach, cast out demons, or prophesy. All that is wonderful, and the gifts God gives have a specific purpose for His glory. But what the disciples wanted was to learn how to pray the way He did. In other words, the disciples saw something in Jesus that they desired deeply, and it was His friendship with God.
I believe the disciples understood that all the other aspects of life and ministry flowed from the place of friendship and intimacy with the Father. Somehow, they figured out that there was something about Jesus’ prayer life that unlocked the supernatural life He lived on full display before the world.
Now, I am not undermining the gifts of the Spirit in any way; I love the gifts that the Lord has given to the body of Christ and desire them earnestly! But I am saying that all things flow from communion with the Lord in prayer when we fellowship with Him. And when you speak, He is listening to you! When you spend time in prayer and fellowship with Jesus, He begins to transform your thoughts and your mind. The Scriptures tell us that His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
Prayer: When You Need Peace for Your Mind
Father, Your Word promises in Isaiah 26:3, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Today, I am fixing my gaze and thoughts on You. My desire is that the meditations of my heart and mind would be on Your Word that sets me free. I give every anxious thought to You. Jesus, You are God, and my life is entirely in Your hands. I surrender every situation I can’t control.
Lord, thank You for the peace of Your presence that removes fear of the unknown, dread of the future, and fear of what may come. I will wait on You in expectant hope and rest in the promise that when I wait on You, my strength is renewed! I will not be anxious or afraid because, Jesus, You are the Lord of all the earth, and You are walking with me!
Lord, You strengthen me in my weakness and give life to my soul when I feel like I can’t go on another day. I know that every good and perfect thing comes from You, the Father of lights. You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. I trust You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
