Jesus, I Want to Know You ਨਮੂਨਾ

Jesus Shows You God's Heart
The author of Hebrews tells us that Jesus is the exact representation of God, and the original meaning of this phrase is “replica.”
This truth about God’s nature seems obvious as I’m typing it, but when I read it in Hebrews, I realized I had thought there were some subtle differences between Son and Father.
Sometimes I falsely believed…
Jesus is always compassionate, but God is impatient.
Jesus is always with me, but God can be distant.
Jesus is always accepting of my humanity, but God is exasperated by my imperfections.
But to see who God is, I only need to look at who Jesus was when he was on this earth.
The compassion of Jesus is the compassion of God.
The gentleness of Jesus is the gentleness of God.
The love of Jesus is the love of God.
When God sent his Son to Earth, he sent not just a representation but also a replica. Every brushstroke the same. Every line and curve repeated.
God took all of his grandness and mystery, wrapped it in skin, laid it in a manger, walked it through the dusty streets of Jerusalem, hung it from a cross, and raised it from a tomb. He took the eternal and invisible and made it earthly and tangible.
This is the miracle, the truth that’s beyond forgery: all of who God is dwelt in Jesus, who dwelled with us, who now dwells in me.
Jesus, I want to know, love, and follow you today. Amen.
What’s a characteristic of Jesus you're grateful for today?
