Day 4 | DIVINE IMAGINATION

“and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft.” Exodus‬ ‭31‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭ESV

In Exodus, God gave craftsmen the ability and intelligence to skillfully create designs, carpentry, and beautiful stones made of gold, silver, and bronze. This was a God-given ability! Today, He has gifted sons and daughters to create similarly to create with skill, to reflect His glory. It is not about how good something looks, but rather that God is seen and reflected in it.

This is a picture of being Presence-driven over performance-driven. Presence-driven expression is serving and loving God with your gifts. It consists of inquiring of the Lord before and while creating. Performance driven is being motivated by the opinions of people, self, and exalting talent over God given gifts. Your creative abilities should be unto an audience of One, Jesus.

As you connect with God through Expression, ask yourself, “Have I fully surrendered my expectations? Am I willing to let my expectations go and trust Him with all my creative abilities? Am I seeking His presence or my desires?” Being presence-driven in your expression develops closeness with God because you are looking and seeking God in all you put your hands and mind to.

PRAYER

Lord, thank You for filling me with the Spirit of God and giving me the ability to create. I repent for any area where I have sought the opinions of man over You. Teach me to abide in Your love and seek You in all things. Amen.
