God is Faithful

There are moments in life when it feels like giving up is the only option, aren't there? Maybe that's you today. Whether we’re talking about work or relationships or believing God for things or our calling – or anything else -- when the road gets hard, it’s easy to feel like quitting, isn't it?

But in those moments, instead of being overwhelmed by the circumstances, remember God’s faithfulness. The same God who got you this far will take you the rest of the way because He is faithful!

In 1 Corinthians 1:9, Paul says, “God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” God’s faithfulness isn’t just something you read about in scripture; it’s something you can hold onto when you feel like giving up. God hasn’t promised you a life without struggle, but He has promised to be with you in every struggle, and to put you over (Romans 8:37).

God’s faithfulness means He’ll never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5b). When you feel at the end of your rope, it’s not the time to give up but to lean into His unchanging love and power. Even when you doubt yourself, God’s faithfulness stands firm. When the finish line seems unreachable, it’s easy to want to quit, but you can bank on this – God will give you the grace and strength to win this victory, if you don’t give up.

I like to think about it this way: I am not fighting a battle in my own strength – I’m leaning on God’s strength, and He has plenty of it. He doesn’t love me and help me and empower me because I am good – He does it because HE is good! I can count on Him to help me overcome.

Take comfort today in knowing that God is with you every step of the way. He’s empowered you with His spirit (Ephesians 3:16). His faithfulness means He won’t leave you halfway through (1 Thessalonians 5:24). He’ll empower you to press on, to keep going until you see the victory. Remember, when you feel like giving up, God is faithful, and you can trust Him to strengthen you.
