At its core, Ruth is a story about how God moves even when we don’t see Him working. When has God worked behind the scenes in your life when you didn’t realize He was at work? What did you learn about God in that situation?

We sometimes believe the lie that says God ceases to move when we harden our hearts against Him. But God doesn’t change His character if we are bitter, lonely, or broken-hearted—He works in the lives of His people regardless. When have you been surprised by God’s movement in your life? How has He used unexpected people or events in your walk with Him?

Even if life seems more chaotic than ever before, God has not forgotten you. We see in the lives of Ruth and Naomi that He moves on our behalf. Our circumstances sometimes blind us from God’s hand, but we can put our faith in the God who sees the plight of His children and acts for their good.
