When God Turns It Around: Hope for Hard Times

DAY 2 OF 7

RUTHFROM RUIN TO REDEMPTION

Ruth’s life fell apart. She lost her husband in a foreign land. She had no children. She had no support. Everything that gave her identity and hope seemed to be gone. It would've been easy for Ruth to give up. But she made a bold choice: she stuck with Naomi, her mother-in-law, and with Naomi’s God.

Ruth returned to Bethlehem with nothing but her faith. She worked hard in the fields just to survive. But behind the scenes, God was weaving a bigger story. He led Ruth to Boaz, a man who showed her kindness and protection. Boaz became her redeemer—not just marrying her, but restoring her life and legacy.

Ruth became the great-grandmother of King David and part of the family line of Jesus.

This story points us to the gospel. Jesus is our true Redeemer. We come to Him with nothing to offer. We come empty, hurting, and helpless. But in His mercy, He covers us with His grace, restores our future, and brings us into His story.

Our brokenness is not the end. In Christ, our worst losses can become part of a greater redemption.

You might feel like you’ve lost everything. But remember: God sees you. He is still working. He has not forgotten you. And through Jesus, He can restore what feels destroyed.

PRAYER

Jesus, thank You for being my Redeemer. Help me to trust You when I can’t see how things will work out. Teach me to cling to You when life feels empty.

REFLECTION

How does knowing Jesus is your Redeemer give you hope today?

About this Plan

When God Turns It Around: Hope for Hard Times

Life can be full of hard times. Pain. Waiting. Loss. Failure. But the gospel shows us that God is never done with us. Through Jesus, broken things can be healed; lost causes can be redeemed; and even death can be defeated. In this plan, Pastor Mawuli Tsikata looks at real stories in the Bible where God stepped in. Each day will point to Jesus—the true and better turnaround we all need.
