At the end of every week, we'll give you a challenge—something to try that might be outside your regular routine. Each challenge is designed to help you develop one important spiritual habit. This week, it's...
SPEND TIME WITH GOD
There's no formula or one right way to spend time with God. Whether you already know how you like to spend time with God or you're still trying to understand how to hear God's voice, today's challenge is going to help you experiment with some new ways of connecting with God. Try it and see what you discover about God—and about yourself, too!
When we're aware of something in our life that's broken, it can be natural to want to pull away from our relationship with God. It can take courage to make things right. Maybe we're scared to be honest, or we know that once we confess, we'll need to make changes that will result in possible loss or heartache.
This week, choose to be honest about a mistake or wrong that's keeping you from pursuing a closer relationship with God. Start the day with a simple prayer of confession. Then, do what you can to move forward in seeing the benefits of a repaired relationship. It's common for guilt or doubt to creep in. When they do, remind yourself that you can have peace through Jesus.
